Barely anybody cares about clerkship grades as long as they're mostly honors and high pass. You don't need to get honors on every one. Just make sure to do well on step 2. That will be important since you haven't had the best luck with standardized tests (shelf exams). You will be fine as long as you score in that range for step 2.I'd say it really depends on your goals. If your goal is basic science research, then a presentation at a conference (with abstract publication) will probably more helpful. What they will likely do is quickly glance it over to see where you ranked if your school reports out ranking or percentiles. Clinical grades are important if you get almost all Honors (good) or you get almost all Pass (not good).
